Over on the other side of the Kirchheimer valley, easily visible from up here, there is a hitherto uncultivated plot of land that belongs to our family. Every now and then, our gaze has wandered over there as we imagine what we could best do with it. Many recent happenings have finally prompted us to start a project here, intended to set an example – together with you. To make another small contribution for the sake of the environment and ourselves, but also to show that the topic of sustainability is not a one-day craze but has been an integral part of our life for many years. Here at the farm.

1 little tree to celebrate 

Since we would like this young forest (regionally called a “Moass”) grow as fast as possible, we intend to extend the campaign even further. So don’t be surprised if you find a little tree peeking around the corner somewhere in the hotel as a gift for planting in honor of your special day. 

300 to 400 tons of CO2

Big numbers, up there in the headline. But according to our calculations, 1001 little trees will take up around three to four hundred tons of CO2 from the atmosphere in the course of their lives. Sound good, doesn’t it? 

Only 1001 little trees? 

We prefer to think in terms of limitless possibilities. That’s why we could imagine turning the 1001 into 2002, 3003 or even 10001 little trees. Let’s see what we can all accomplish together. When the first little tree has been planted, the hundredth, the five hundred and first, the thousand and first... and beyond. 

PS:Absorbing 1,000 tons of CO2 would certainly be a goal worth pursuing, wouldn’t it?
