Nockalm Road

The 35 km long Nockalm Road between Innerkrems in the north and Ebene Reichenau in the south is, without a doubt, one of the most varied and beautiful Alpine roads you can experience. The panoramic road winds up and down between the "Nock'n" through 52 hairpin bends and numerous turns with gentle incline. A range of free exhibitions can be discovered along the Nockalm Road - and hiking in the habitat of the treasured Speik plant is just as much fun as visiting the numerous alpine huts and mountain inns.

Monkey Mountain Affenberg

The Monkey Mountain Landskron Castle is a zoo and, at the same time, Austria’s largest monkey enclosure with about 160 Japanese macaques. Austria’s highest concrete dam Kölnbreinsperre

Austria's highest dam, the Kölnbreinsperre, is situated at 1,933 meters above sea level. Even getting there is a bit of an adventure: the Malta High Alpine Road leads you along 14.4 kilometers through tunnels carved out of the native rock and hairpin turns. The numerous waterfalls along the road also give the Malta Valley its name "Valley of the Falling Waters". The "Malteiner Wasserspiele" are particularly impressive. The water rushes here over several rock steps into the depth, until it finally meets the fantastically beautiful "Blue Pools".
